Groundbreaking Ceremony

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Brock Environmental Center was held on October 8, 2013 at Pleasure House Point.
During the ceremony, a time capsule in the shape of a birdhouse was buried to be opened 50 years from now. It will be hung on the wall of the Brock Environmental Center when it is recovered. Speakers during the event included Mayor Will Sessoms of Virginia Beach, Will Baker, President of CBF, and Joan and Macon Brock, community philanthropists and who the facility is named after.
