The Daily Press shows how the Center is using old gym floors as a part of their salvaged materials.

Old gym floor reborn into greenest building in Virginia

Old gym floors never die — they go to help build the greenest building in Virginia!

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation says it salvaged more than 4,0000 square feet of gymnasium flooring from the former Campostella Elementary School in Norfolk last week.

Now the wood planks will be installed in CBF’s Brock Environmental Center, being built at Pleasure House Point in Virginia Beach.

When completed this fall, the center is expected to achieve LEED’s highest rating and earn the distinction as the “greenest building” in the state.
